Sample Connecting Questions

We recommend opening your dialogue—or class, club meeting, etc.—with a connecting question before diving into the agenda. These questions should be an opportunity to share something new, break a stereotype, humanize one another, and serve as the first step toward a deeper relationship.

Good connecting questions are an invitation for people to be known better in the ways people they want to be known. This resource provides a set connecting questions. They can—and should!—be adapted as needed to meet your purposes and context.
