Election 2024: Building Dialogue Skills for Empathy and Understanding in the Classroom

This workshop hosted by Civic Spirit introduces educators to a mini-curriculum designed by Essential Partners to help students navigate discussions around the 2024 election with empathy and understanding.

Participants will explore strategies for fostering deep reflection, intentional listening, and structured dialogue, equipping students to engage in conversations across differences. By the end of the session, educators will have tools to guide students in discussing this divisive election with dignity, curiosity, and care.

This workshop will also provide a space for teachers to share best practices for teaching and learning during a highly contentious election cycle.

Civic Spirit, a longtime EP collaborator, educates, inspires, and empowers faith-based schools across faith traditions to enhance civic belonging, knowledge, and responsibility in their student and faculty communities.
