Matt June

Matt June is an Upper School history teacher and has created and overseen the school’s Difficult Dialogues Council (DDC), where he helps students to serve as facilitators who guide their peers in respectful, inquiry-driven conversations across lines of difference. He is also working with a select group of Difficult Dialogues Council members to develop their skills in designing and leading structured dialogues. 

In recent years, he has partnered with Essential Partners to lead trainings for students, faculty, and families aimed at strengthening the school’s capacity for thoughtful, effective communication.  Prior to teaching at Latin, Matt studied and taught at Northwestern University, where he earned his PhD in modern American History.
