Student Testimonial: Sophia Hopper, Ravenscroft School (NC)

Rising senior Sophia Hopper has participated in a collaboration between Ravenscroft School in North Carolina and Essential Partners since she was an incoming freshman, learning to design and lead healthier discussions about controversial, polarizing, and sensitive topics—but it's not the individual dialogues and conversations that create change she (sagely) notes:

“If you can get one dialogue out of five, or whatever, if you can get the one to work, then it's worth it. As we rework our process and topic and structure, that's the work that's going to then go into other parts of our community—not the conversations themselves, but thinking about having them. As long as people remain committed to improving, then we'll get somewhere.”
